Agencies, start-ups and even civic organizations are no strangers to using hackathons to get stakeholders together and come up with new solutions. Truth is, we don't always have a long weekend, or the pizza and beer budget to come up with a working prototype. Some ideas can't wait that long. Instead, we need a more focused mashup of small diverse teams and interesting challenges for them to chew on in an afternoon.
That was the vision of Assemble, a BSSP initiative to get people from all departments working together to solve complex problems and make more stuff for our clients and ourselves. The briefs are 10 words or less and the ideas that come back need to be described in under 140 characters. To keep it focused and engaging, each Assemble is designed to be swift, short and simple.
Since its launch, the Assemble format has been utilized on client projects and new business assignments.
